Apple has released the first beta version of iOS 17.6 to public beta testers. This update focuses on bug fixes and security patches rather than new features. Here are the details…
iOS 17.6 public beta 1 released! It could be the last update before iOS 18
iOS 17.6 beta 1 does not seem to bring major innovations. Apple has already introduced all the planned features with iOS 17, such as StandBy mode and the Journal app. Therefore, iOS 17.6 focuses on bug fixes and security patches.
Apple followed a similar approach with the release of iOS 16.6, which also focused on bug fixes and security improvements rather than major new features. iOS 17.6 aims to make iOS 17 as smooth as possible before the release of iOS 18.
Apple announced the developer beta of iOS 18 at WWDC 2024, with the public beta expected in July. While Apple is focusing on the transition from iOS 17 to iOS 18, it doesn’t mean iOS 17.6 won’t include new features. Apple might release more beta versions with new features before the public release.
